About Luke

Welcome. I’m Luke Sherlock. A writer and bookshop owner with a boundless enthusiasm for landscape, heritage and art. There’s little I enjoy more than throwing on a backpack, heading off down some unknown footpath and pausing to explore a hushed, ancient church along the way. My mission is to share these journeys so we can better know, value and care for our historic landmarks and the landscapes they sit within, whilst hopefully inspiring others to find some meaning through their own discoveries.

I grew up exploring the Peak District of Derbyshire, which has something to do with my deep yearning to hit the ancient routes that criss-cross England.

For those who want to follow my travels on social media I’ve been sharing on Instagram for quite a few years now, under my handle ‘@englishpilgrim.’ I also own the bookshop Sherlock & Pages (@sherlockandpages) which is similarly focused on nature, landscape, history and heritage.

My first book Forgotten Churches: Exploring England’s Hidden Treasures is available now at sherlockandpages.com or via all good booksellers.

Thank you for you support,

Luke
